Re: Halloween 2019
Can confirm Willis is one tough hombre.

Granted I was playing without sound given the old version of DarkPlaces bundled with the Beta uses outdated sound paths on Linux. I might be able to get it to work with some fiddling, but still had a lot of fun, even if I only fragged Willis less than ten times. Including suicides.

I am much better at Transfusion than Blood 2. You had 4 or 5 in a row on me on that one run on bb8 though.
you should be able to grab the latest binary from http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/download.html and drop it in your transfusion directory and name it transfusion and it should work just fine theoretically.
Edit: Just tried it with windows and there seems to be a bit of a shake when not moving, but everything functioned correctly at least.

Just tried it on Linux and got much the same result you did. It also has a different HUD and the Napalm Launcher model does not show except with Akimbo. I did have sound though.Willis wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 07:20 amyou should be able to grab the latest binary from http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/download.html and drop it in your transfusion directory and name it transfusion and it should work just fine theoretically.

I could probably have got the Transfusion Beta for Windows running just fine in WINE, but then I would have been stuck just like Blood 2.
Some Screamshots from the game:

Sorry I had to bail for work reasons also
I cant remember the last time I fired up Transfusion. Its almost as much of a classic as B2 nowadays.

Any interest in a Halloween game this year?
Either Transfusion, B2 or Blood.

Re: Halloween 2019
I would be up for giving it a go. Gideon can probably join this year as well since Halloween is on the weekend.
EDIT: Just confirmed that both Gideon and I were able to BloodBath with both Blood II and the latest Transfusion Beta through WINE.

Re: Halloween 2019
So I got TF Beta 1.05 beta 2 running with latest Darkplaces binary.
I also have the latest B2 version from Steam.
Unfortunately, I don't have to option of running a dedicated server this year. I have a good connection so I can host directly but my server machine isn't functioning.
I could possibly dig up a laptop to use.

Re: Halloween 2019
If using Transfusion I would still recommend using the binary that came with the last Transfusion Beta due to the weirdness previously described when using the 2014 DarkPlaces binary. It is playable and has working sound on Linux but still has a few rough edges when using the Transfusion assets. Playing the Beta with WINE is a workable compromise for Gideon and I at present.
I do wonder what could be done with a new Transfusion release that focused exclusively on polishing the multiplayer to make it the best it could be. Standalone Blood arena first-person shooter.
EDIT: I am also having some confusion working out what is the latest version of DarkPlaces anyway? Regardless the weirdness remains when using the autobuild.

Re: Halloween 2019
I tried creating a public server at 207.228.78.135 but Gideon was not able to connect.
We could try Blood 2 as well?
EDIT: Same thing when Gideon tried to host at 75.159.34.193 and I tried to connect as well. And he is on a completely different network. It worked for us on LAN a week or so back.
