dude, don't you think I know that?Gila wrote:IT WONT IMPROVE TEXTURE QUALITY
3DFX "ACCELERATION" Will just produce nice filtering effect so you won't end up in a blocky texture when up close to the wall, it would be blurred.
I'm not some f*** noob who knows no s*** about 3d effects.
but that itself might improve the looks of the game.

Hires textures are MUCH better looking than the original (have you actually used the latest betas of the duke3d Hires pack)Gila wrote:but 90% of the "HIRES" content are done by the fans, so most of the hires textures and models suck big time. that's why i'll stick to regular content thanks
3d models are just plain awesome. I have been following duke3d project and almost all the models are nothing short of outstanding, unlike the jdoom stuff, including the recently done shrinker, rpg and freezer
I 100% agree with you in the case of Blood in dos or VDMSound, but using the polymost OpenGL engine from jonof's duke3d (which is in Winblood) you can scale up the resolution ridiculously high and still enjoy smooth framerates.Ðædalu§ Ðeathmask wrote:I've seen Blood on about ten different computers. In almost every case 800x600 runs perfectly smoothly, while 1024x768 is just a *little* bit laggy.
Let's not forget the netplay (being reworked in jonof's port) and OGG/MP3 support which would be very nice to add to Winblood.
