Blood on Windows ME

Post by Doomshadow »

I got a free windows ME laptop not too long ago and I've just realized that I could try my old copied blood disk or transfer my abandonware download to it.
My question is, will blood function normally on Windows ME?

It's nothing to do with the OS, it's to do with your hardware.

It has Dimebog, for example you can run Build-based game with full functionality under an older Windows, but XP and Vista won't handle it.
And it'll be perfect unless hardware conflicts occur. 95/98/Me can load drivers for your hardware the way that a DOS game won't recognize a difference between "true" hardware it was intended for and yours.
EDIT: Everything above applies for sound and video, so please don't say your joystick won't work.

Blood will work in every 32-bit Windows system including Vista, if you have the right hardware and appropriate drivers. The problem is that the hardware needed for BLOOD cannot run Vista but that's nothing to do with my point.

Control your temper when talking to me, Ghoste.

Yes, lets just keep our points, because every talk to you when someone opposes your undisputed attitude goes nowhere as far as I know.

Don't I? :? I appreciate your contributions to the community, but keep in mind I've been around there much longer, and registration date will tell you nothing.

Ok then, if you claim to have been here longer then me, then I guess it's ok for you to be a jerk. I once pointed out that even joypads work in DosBox (among other peripherals, meaning that you can play BLOOD with a keyboard and mouse that actually came from this century) so why exactly do you have to use that to make fun of me... You're not even original - someone already did that before you. Can't you think of your own ways to bash me?

Win XP will handle Blood and mapedit with limited functionality. Vista has absolutely no support for full-screen console applications, such as Blood.

Win 2000 and other NT versions suck, according to Leileilol. ;)

Hardware and its drivers is of utmost importance, just as the game system requirements show.

Wrong. Any NT-based OS won't run Blood any better than XP does.

Win9x (95, 98, ME) works because it's practically on top of DOS.
