Ive got some screenshots, I just have no way of uplaoding them right now, since my main comp isnt online and this notebook im using doesnt even have a floppy drive so that I could transfer the images.
Backlot is a pretty huge map these days. Its nearly tied up and I added some really interesting 'attractions.' It's very similar to 'Dark Carnival' but I feel Backlot is a more alive and the atmosphere is THICK (via custom sounds). It's certainly bigger and I think I captured the essence of Dark Carnival pretty well. In other words, if you like 'Carnival', then you're gonna dig 'Backlot.' The only difference is that Backlot is more of a fairground lot than a carnival. Plus, Backlot is set in the country woods with crickets chirping.

I rather like the rocky shoreline. I think it could eventually do with some fog (sprites, possibly lighting effects on only the sprites, and I can show you how if you need). Your work makes me smile, except for the constant lack of adequate lighting. Are there any "light sources" in that map other than the moon? Good stuff, man. I like it.

EDIT: Heh, now I notice that you had your gamma adjusted up very high. Although I like the washed out effect that it adds, you still need more lighting.

copy the layer in photoshop or gimp, set the top layer mode to either screen or additive depending on what youre using, its a much better way of brightening an image, while keeping all the levels equal to one another basically.and yes i had to brighten the shot's with a paint package and de-Red tint them.

There's an excellent free program that you can use for viewing and adjusting almost any picture, called InfranView http://www.irfanview.com/
Its incredibly easy to use. I took the liberty of spending 5 seconds on one of your screenshots to adjust the brightness and contrast as an example. I hope that information might help.
But its all looking good. Keep up the good work.

ahh, those screens look good Red. The last shot with the rocky terrain and gate is especially nice. Some shots look a bit similar to The Fort in places, though. Im sure it'll gain more character as you work on it. On my end, I still cant upload any new shots here. but things are getingt tightened up and will continue fine-tuning these 4 maps im working on. Gotta clean this slate first before starting up a few new ones.
Smooth sailing here. I just need more time. Ive slowed down production with the oncoming summer, but will devote more time in the Fall. 6 of my maps are all nearly cinched up. Then Ill need to start on probally 3 more. Ive got custom sounds and art working fine. Don't worry though, we're not gonna be like the Bloodlines team with missed deadlines and laziness. RedFanatic and myself are devoted Blood directors here, it's not like we wanna go jump on some newer game engine or anything. We learned mapedit this late in the game because we wanted to make stuff for Blood, plain and simpleLizzy wrote:Those screenshots look pretty good for a beta stage in development. How is the overall work going for both you guys at this time? Smooth or bumpy?
