A new article about Unlimited Detail popped up on New Scientist

Google-searching "Point Cloud" returns some interesting images, videos, and web pages. The concept seems to be a staple (fairly) of graphic workstation computing, but as we know, is not incorporated into mainstream graphics processing by commonplace real-time software.
