It appears to be official. Monolith's new project is the next F.E.A.R. game. Although, they have not officially revealed it, there have been info leaks about it. Paxton Fettel will be returning as the main villain again. Just look at this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/FEAR-P ... ,9596.html

Ah well, let's just hope that it will be better than F.E.A.R. 2. Since Monolith has owned the F.E.A.R. name since before F.E.A.R. 2 was finished then I think they will be able to do a better job with this one. Possibly even bringing back the point man because he is Paxton Fettel's biological brother which is part of what the original F.E.A.R. was all about. :)

According to Monolith's new site they are also working on one other project. So there is still some debate on what it will be. :P

"While the two projects we are currently working on are still unannounced, we are excited to pull back the curtain a bit and show some behind-the-scenes views into our day to day life here at Monolith."

I wonder if they should do a mass-debate. (;) innuendo joke).
At least they don't sit on a project for a decade like 3DR did. :-/ :-P

They are technically still sitting on it, though how they can get a game done without a dev team is interesting... :P

Ah well, here is still hoping for a Blood III or Shogo 2.

There just might be a Blood III or even a source code release! Look at this page: http://www.lith.com/Games/Blood

"BLOOD™ Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc."

It seems that Warner Bros. obtained the rights to the game so Atari no longer has it.

Ransu, that seems to be a copy paste job from the old website.

I checked the TM office again and it looks like both the Blood and Blood II TMs are still listed as DEAD.

Provided they've no plans to resurrect the Blood franchise, we need only permission from the head of WBE's computer entertainment dept. We know who the man is who currently holds tho source, correct?

Permission to do what? It just means that they don't plan on using the name again.

As for who has a copy of the source, it's rumored that Matt Saettler might have it, but can't just release it.

He should just leave it on a park bench... :ninja:

I seriously wonder:
A. Who would get upset, if anyone
B. Who would take legal action, if anyone
if he were to surrender the code. ;-P

Also, I wonder how much it would cost...

EDIT: Oh look, we've sidetracked to this again... sorry

Speaking as someone who has been sued more than once for no ethical reason, I can tell you that if you were Matt Saettler you probably wouldn't want to take the chance.

I know the easy thing is to think is "just release it, no one cares" BUT, if there is the slightest chance that someone in the universe might care, then Matt would be on the hook for it and have to pay a price. Not any of us. So it's easy if you are not, and will not in the future be responsible for anything to say "who cares!".

True, true, no one is blaming Matt here. Out of curiosity Joe, what exactly were you sued for?
