So it turns out 3D Realms is not shut down based on what I've read. Just read this section. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_nukem ... -_May_2009

Ransu, it's starting to look like there's a bit of a slump in the entire gaming industry. I need to do some actual research on the topic but for now I think we just need to hang tight.

Does anyone know if anything is actually happening at the moment? Last I heard Scott Miller was building a new DNF website to post screeshots to. This is in response to getting kicked off Facebook, apparently they don't like fictional characters having their own profiles there...

I'm wondering about this as well.

Has anyone heard of this though?

Hmm, might be enough for me to finally say screw DNF...although DNF being canceled was one of the worst disappointments I've ever had to live through.

Two interesting articles related to this thread...

http://www.bingegamer.net/2010/duke_nuk ... lay_video/
http://www.videogamer.com/news/id_thoug ... _joke.html

Keep in mind, Broussard only said that the music and voice were fake, the rest seems genuine. All I got to say is, if they need someone to play Duke as a geriatric, they got to track this imitator down. He would do it well. :P

Also, is this not the Caleb-ist Duke Nukem fan art ever?

I really would like to see it happen. I just don't see how they could let a commercial project lag behind so much. :-/

Apparently before the falling out with Take Two it was scheduled to have gone gold on April 1st of this year. So there was a planned date in all of this after all.

The rumour going about is that 3D Realms has handed the development of DNF to Gearbox Software.

http://www.techspot.com/news/39933-rumo ... arbox.html

I would be thrilled if this means the game will come to light, but if it is true I can only hope that 3D Realms made sure to keep creative control and commercial control of the project.

I have also been seeing that rumor around. Gearbox did a nice job on the Brothers In Arms series and Borderlands so if they really are taking over for DNF then I'm sure it will turn out great. :)
