3D Realms Closed
I'm surprised no one here has brought up that 3DR has gone under.
Google it.

I'll start: go figure--what else could happen with a game taking 12 years (this far) to create?!

Pardon me Slink as I'm about to answer your question with another question.
How long can a gaming company hold on to existence without financing for a new title? I know they're hiring and such but it's just a little too odd.
Thinking that Monolith would go under now is just silly, seeing as how they recently released F.E.A.R. 2, etc.
...Right?

Agreed. Sorry if I sounded pompous, btw. I didn't mean to! Embarassed Anyway, it certainly is odd... why CLOSE the forums?
Actually Slink, no one has more internet 'tone' issues than I do.
Sometimes I read back through my own posts and think "damn I sound coarse". but one day I will master the tone thing, and the emoticon thing,....the linking thing...
the [img] thing
the formatting my text thing...
We can only hope Monolith is forced to make an announcement sometime soon. Perhaps the closing of 3dr will make them consider doing just that.

Absolutely.DustyStyx wrote:zZaRdoZz, Lith has the backing of Time-Warner, that alone serves a form of a storm buffer. At this point they only have to crank out a game or two every so often and get close to breaking even to keep afloat.
I wonder wtf was going on over at 3D Realms (Apogee). Maybe too much pizza, beer, strippers, and cocaine? Sum1 alrdy said that kinda thing...
