Re: What game are you currently playing?
So a couple of months back I was able to save a Pentium III 500 MHz Slot 1 computer from being recycled at the dump. Since then I have added a Rage 128 Pro graphics card and have so far played through both Shogo and Blood II as well as most of Deus Ex from Windows 98.
I also installed a second hard drive with Red Hat Linux 7.3 from which I have won both Quake and the single player campaign of Quake III Arena. I am most of the way through Scourge of Armagon right now:
More information can be found from the articles I have been writing about the machine on GamingOnLinux:

Arguably would be better to go with a Voodoo card in there but I am not made of money.

"Interloper!"
Q2 was never a favorite, but I always liked the baddie who could throw player around. I don't recall ever being thrown from a ledge for some reason, that should gave happened

I can't help but wonder if the game would have been more fondly remembered if it had been named "Wor" as originally intended given all the flack id got at the time for being derivative.

So 3D Realms is making a "Blood Inspired" retro FPS called Cultic.
I have been playing the demo on Steam.
Think Blood meets Project Warlock.

Cultic looks like everything I hoped it would.

Re: What game are you currently playing?
By the time I get around to actually playing any of these retro inspired shooters the games will have become retro themselves.
We still keep buying them though.
