Quite a bit late this year, but we have finally gotten around to noticing that the Blood Wiki has turned five this month.

The bad news: Due to an unprecedented amount of abuse, I have been forced to prevent the creation of new user accounts on this Wiki. This move is only temporary, and I will try to remove the block at the end of the month, at which point we will see whether or not the same level of abuse returns again. In the meantime, if an actual human being wants to get an account they can post on my talk page as a guest with their desired username and I can create one for you.

The good news: We do, in fact, have a new human contributor - http://www.blood-wiki.org/index.php/User:Ishmael

Somehow I now feel better about all this:
Automatic registrations have been temporarily closed while we deal with an influx spam bots and accounts. If you would like to register, and you're an actual human, please use the contact form to get in touch, and we'll create your account.

So we are not the only fan website on the web experiencing problems. And the same solution appears to apply.

Congratulations! It's great to see the Wiki grow up to what it has become. Thank you for all the hard work also.
I'm glad there is a site still alive that gives out proper information about the series.

Over the weekend our host DeathMask was hit with an apparently random DoS attack. The actual service interruption would have been from about 4:30 - 8:30 PM CST on March 1st, but due to a problem with some internet backbones not having the routing properly restored afterwards the Blood Wiki staff, as well as probably several others, were unable to access the website until the morning of March 3rd. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Due to an unprecedented amount of abuse from spam bots I have been forced to block all edits from unregistered users until I have the time to deal with the problem in a more acceptable way. Due to my current work situation I may also not have the time to fix all of the damage that has already been done anytime soon, so I hope you will bear with us as we try to deal with all of the problems that have been introduced. In the meantime, if you would like to register an account in order to keep editing, please go to User:Tchernobog and select "E-mail this user" to get in touch.

Thankfully the damage was far less extensive and difficult to remove than I had first thought it would be, and barring any pages that I may have missed for whatever reason, all of our articles should now be in good working order again. The block on edits from unregistered users will remain in place for the next little while though, until I can be more alert in checking for malicious edits again.

Glad to hear it wasn't too bad.
