I'm sorry to hear that, DL. That sh!t is terrible, especially when the cat wasn't an a$$hole and actually enjoyed your company. It takes some time. You will constantly think you see her around the house, but you'll be okay soon.

Take care,

Aww man i'm sorry :( It's a shame it wasn't a natural death :rip:

Our old dog died about maybe 2-3 years ago now, and he just crawled under the Stove, Barked for an hour or so then whimperd for a few more hours and then Died as soon as my Mum had gotten home and said good bye

As Slink says it's amazing when they're gone how much time you realize you used to spend doing stuff with your pet.

Some people do decide to do that thing while others frown upon it.

I don't frown, but I wouldn't do that. Cute cat, though.

No wonder its dead it was approx 20 years old and was older than some forum members, I suppose. I also don't like stuffed animals they're very creepy especially if you knew them when they used to be pets :zombie:

Ghoste, I understand that English is a second language to you and all, but you seem really insensitive. Please make your point in a way that is not so harsh, such as, "The cat lived a long life! She was older than some forum members." 19 years + some, btw.

Plus, you referred to the cat as "it" implying that she was a thing and not a creature.

...and what the hell was that? You making a mockery of someone else's beloved companion? Please, don't tease about such things. I'm sure most of us don't appreciate it.

K, but things don't generally have personalities. Animals, on the other hand, can love and live like we can. They can be sad or happy, they can trust, betray, or forgive. However, hate seems to be a human emotion (or intention). If you go way back up the evolutionary tree, all mammals are connected, and further up, all animals, and then all organisms.

We mammals are all akin to one another, and connections go deeper than you realize.

People teach that animals are things because animals are used by humans to serve purposes. We cloister them, milk them, breed them, kill them, eat them, wear them. Those teachings are so that people do not feel bad about doing those things. Such are found in the Holy Bible.

A person can still use animals while understanding the reality of the situation without having to feel guilty about doing something wrong, as long as he/she does it with respect.

Now, GO WATCH "ACE VENTURA, When Nature Calls"! That should show you in an enjoyable way that animals are friends. That movie is hilarious. One of my favorites!

Now, no more of this crap. I'm no shining jewel myself, but could you please be a little more mature, Ghoste?

DoomL? :(

It’s very sad to hear, DoomL… :( Your cat indeed lived a very happy and long life. Now I’m afraid to sound as insensitive as Ghoste, but yours was an exceptionally long-living cat!
Ghoste wrote: P.S. I was always taught animals are things, its very odd.
I believe we both started to study English at school, Ghoste (I may be mistaken though). And as far as I remember they taught us to refer to a creature as “it” in case we don’t know its gender. Since DoomL clearly stated his cat was a she, it’s impolite to refer to her as “it”.
(You English-speakers are free to correct me, since my school info proved to be obsolete on many occasions).

Hey! I always wanted a pet bat! They’re like gargoyles to me, only without forelegs. Too pity there’s no any bats where I live…
