"You must release your mind from the prison Blood's source code."

@ liberation

Nice work. Tommy looks like it might benefit from a size increase.

Bot game with networking (DON'T CALL IT MULTIPLAYER) FTW. In all seriousness though willis, don't we lose most of the advantages of MP the second we confront the network code? How can I test physics with a latency of 1000 and a fps of 4? I know its not that bad for most but you get the idea. D...

Blood doesn't need those requirements. It's all DOSBOX.
I'm still eying ways to get blood running in CMD. That includes vista and 7.
Well kids, this is what happens when you assume which thread you're posting in. All apologies.

Aint' it remarkable how history repeats itself? Someone says 'singleplayer' in regards to transfusion. Everyone gets excited. Someone else says multiplayer is the responsible approach. Silence reins and glaciers begin to form. 2010 is the new 01. Why is it that people mistrust multiplayer? It's can'...

I need to point out that DirectQ was tested against the version of DP that is distributed with Tfn 1.01, not the most current version.

TFn 1.01 on DirectQ

First off, this post isn't meant as a swipe against DP. Dusty gave me the lo' down on the evils of combining an ancient Geforce 5200 gfx card and Darkplaces. That said, the frame rate increase was dramatic. The DirectQ isn't a wrapper or an emulator, it uses the DirectX (versions 9c, 10, 11) D3D ren...

Yes, it is a bit vague. What I really mean is low vertice count. Blood replication is the ultimate goal. Still I'm guessing that a emphasis on AI in the short term with simple, smooth running maps would have a quick turn around time. Having maps that run on nearly all systems would mean lots of down...

Me: The most imortant thing to remember is we can't treat this as "the next step" in completing transfusion. Transfusion's reason for being is ultimately a blood reproduction. I don't think using standard blood maps is such a good idea due to those high vertice numbers. A correction, A min...

ILA: The team has already done alot with Darkplaces to mold it into closer resembling Blood's physics, crouching was another huge step. It is truly a beautiful engine and can handle everything we need to implement so why change it at this point? That's an excellent point. DP is so developed that it ...

Dusty: Just a few words on an engine switch. I don't think that this is really a good idea. We really need a stable base to begin build things on, and DarkPlaces is about as robust and capable as they come. ILA: Engine switching was always a heated topic if you look through the archives, it wasn't a...

I'm not sure which release of TFn was last before the break with quake compatibility. beta.99 or so maybe. Remember what get's lost with darkplaces though. It isn't just about graphics improvements either. There's a huge amount of committed code, swinging doors, crouching etc. Not to mention dp's li...

BON: I also realize that the original Quake is very similar to Blood in terms of the gameplay and I thought the idea of converting it to the Quake engine was actually a very fitting idea...after I seen the comparisons of the gameplays here and here... ILA: 1)Make a short (3 or 4 level) singleplayer ...
