Re: Expertise on the Quake Engine and Quake Modding

I don't suppose you'd be interested in a less learning curve intensive engine, like a modernized doom port? I am certainly interested in learning how to edit in a modernized Doom port, like ZDoom of GZDoom. EDuke, Game Maker, Unity have caught my eye as well. It's just that I want to play around wi...

Re: existence in a post Trump universe

@ BEAST Who you voted for is very important. It explains your position in this conversation. And I'm not self righteous because of who I voted for. I voted for the best candidate for this country. I may not know the "real" left but I do know that Hillary was left enough. We don't need tha...

Re: existence in a post Trump universe

If you think that that Bernie/Hillary/Obama were far left, then you haven't known far left people personally. Oh, he has in a way, and on this very forum. I just do not tend to wade too far into these kinds of highly politicized threads on gaming websites. Glad to know you, comrade! :) But I can no...

Re: existence in a post Trump universe

Oh, thank God my response didn't cause a ruckus. Whenever I get outspoken on other forums, it turns into a scene from Bloodsport. @BEAST : lol, no, if I had a degree I would certainly have more money. You're still damn well impressively learned, good sir. Friends, we know from the Podesta emails tha...

Expertise on the Quake Engine and Quake Modding

Since I aspire to be a game designer, I want to learn how to mod and code for Quake. I don't know where to start. Alongside the Transfusion project, I've been inspired by Quake mods like Nehahra and Dark Places games like Hazard. I would like to seek help from the Quake 1 community on what to do, bu...

Re: existence in a post Trump universe

@VGames Bubba, Trump has got a narcissistic personality disorder, he's a terrible businessman, he didn't even write his own memoir, he only told his followers what they wanted to hear in order to get elected, he can't even keep track of every promise or boast he made, most of his promises are based ...

Re: About BLOOD with Jace Hall: "Blood - Should It Live Agai

That's a nice bit of artwork BEAST. I have to ask though, what were those monsters doing before Caleb walked in on them? Thanks, N0t_mINe! I'd like to think that those monsters were waiting for Caleb before he arrived. Before he came, they probably were just hanging, joking, talking about the stock...

Re: About BLOOD with Jace Hall: "Blood - Should It Live Agai

Although I'm not good at doing illustrations which look realistic, I can illustrate the general idea for how I want a game to look like. Imagine this here visual enhanced with better graphics. This pic illustrates an idea for level for my own vision of Blood 3. It takes place in an abandoned wooden ...

Re: About BLOOD with Jace Hall: "Blood - Should It Live Agai

I think if there was a third Blood I'd want it to look very realistic. I think that would suit the horror aspect of the game. Both of the previous installments looked very good for their time so I would expect the next one to look amazing in whatever time period it's made. realistic means less fun,...

Re: About BLOOD with Jace Hall: "Blood - Should It Live Agai

If it's a BLOOD 3 game, i hope it will be with the atmosphere of the first one...because the enemies and atmosphere style of the 2 games are so differents...... Kevin Kilstrom's art design is still awesome to this day. Maybe if Blood's IP has been reacquired, they could just render the enemy design...

Sorry for not posting for awhile, been sick as a dog. Anyway, this has just shown up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib_yTEyXENM This video's awesome, Tcherno! I liked the cardboard cutout art for Blood 2 and Caleb, the early menu screen, and alternate weapons shown in the gamepla...

In speaking of Blood 2, here's a little Blood 2 poster of my own making.

Edit Post-Script: I know this doesn't have much to do with the topic, but I thought it would be of interest, because Blood 2's original ideas still inspire me artistically.

OpenKatana: A Dark Replaces Recreation of Daikatana

For those of you who didn't know, someone had been working on recreating Daikatana's Quake-based pre-alpha on the Dark Places engine. Well... not exactly, but it is damn good looking. It's called OpenKatana, and it's also being made for Linux. http://www.indiedb.com/games/openkatana Of course, you w...

Various Attempts to Recreate System Shock 1

For awhile, I've been searching for an ideal engine to design a game in the vein of System Shock 1. I've tried getting the help of TTLG Forums and Strange Bedfellows, but those guys vary between helpful to hostile. I did come across some interesting links that might be interest to you guys. First, t...
