Re: The Blood Wiki - Change Hosts?
Put me down for voting +1 for deathmask. I've always thought the server was unstable - as I edit my page semi-frequently, it was only able to load it up less than half the time. Often I'd make edits and publish, to have the page crash, and the new data lost. I would do it but I can't access it becau...

Re: mingw32 stuff
Figured it out! Basically, my compiler isn't the default i586-etc., it was just basic gcc, so CC=GCC, and it worked. Now I'm in business!

mingw32 stuff
Hey guys, Has anyone here used or have experience with the cross-compiler mingw? I'm setting up an environment in Windows to cc but it seems that when I try to MAKE something, the cc= part of the makefile won't link back to the compiler that came with mingw32. Seems to spit an Error 127 out at me. F...

Re: Duke Nukem Forever to be released in 2011
Most of the work Gearbox picked up was already there from 3dRealms (or Triptych). I can assume all Gearbox brought was a little glue to put the pieces in working order.

Re: Blood Source Port Through DarkXL
Reverse Engineering something is completely different than building from source. That's why they are trying to implement full Strife support, rather than partial (or, better put, "guesswork"). This is how Hexen was also being done before Raven released the source. I'm still skeptical but a...

Good point. You will have to keep us up to date with whatever solution you come up with. Hopefully you can squash them soon.

Re: Commercial Links in User Profiles and Signatures.
Why don't you create a subforum that requires new users to post at least once or something as to "validate" their account? This way maybe you could really root out the bad accounts. Doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Intensive Treatment, eh? I'll give it a try and see if I can get anywhere close to that. The only thing that kicks my ass is timing the blocking. I can get it about 40% of the time. But yeah I'll get some monster combos as long as I don't forget about blocking, which I tend to do. Haha. I'll post my...

Re: Commercial Links in User Profiles and Signatures.
I'm getting a massive amount of spam accounts at my own forums despite efforts to stop them, they continually circumvent it. All this time I thought it was all automated. Guess not. SMF has this interesting puzzle solving thing when you sign up as an addon to prevent bots, but the reason I haven't d...

Yeah, there should be some sort of add-in or mod for phpBB that would allow you to do this.Ransu wrote:You can't add in the stuff like a simple math problem and a Captcha thing to prove the user signing up is not a bot?
Check this site, you should find something to help you out with this.
