I don't know anything about it, but a quick search led me to http://www.modwiki.net/wiki/ASE_%28file_format%29 Looks like it has more to do with the modeling software format than a game engine format, but could have something to do with the potential replacement for q3bsp maps that has been rumored ...

Motorsep (who can be found in the #darkplaces irc channel on irc.anynet.org) is using the IQM format in his upcoming game called Steel Storm. You may want to have a chat with him. BlackHC also wrote an export tool that may or may not be helpful; http://svn.icculus.org/darkwar/trunk/base/scripts/iqm_...

And to reply to my own post, here is a edited version of an IRC session with Nick Newhard on a Duke3D irc channel. I've modified it to be more relevantly readable, the full source can be found here (Nick Neward = C0DEACE1). <RobBrown> Can you tell me what is the Q-Studios-Monolith arrangement? Are t...

Heretic was released in final by Raven in December of 1994. The earliest roots of the Blood alpha trace back to around October 1995. The games have absolutely nothing in common in terms of development or influence. QStudios is in fact the core team behind the forming of Monolith, and I really don't ...

Not terribly, I've had 3 of them already, One I have is sealed, one is open and complete, and the other now belongs to Dusty Styx. There are few things I'm actively looking for at this point. Those include: Blood T-Shirt from store.lith.com 97-99 Blood 2 T-Shirt from store.lith.com 98-99 Blood 2 Eur...

Re: Ahhhh...

All your revelation does though is scoot back my opinion. The second a "core" is developed, all my arguments will apply hehe. And once the core is complete, that will leave multiplayer more than 75% complete, while leaving singleplayer closer to 25% complete. I'm saying once core is done, there won...

Re: Just sayin...

I'm not saying flawless remake tomorrow, or scrap the whole project, I'm just saying ANYTHING single player really needs to be the priority, even with a broken engine, people will play it if there's something, anything to play. I thought that too, until I started singleplayer development and found ...

Corbin: As DustyStyx stated, the multiple model types are not a bad thing. In fact, they are a very good thing. We used PSK/PSA for advanced animations with better bone support, which is great for animation, not as great for networking code or physical file size. For mostly static, or models with ve...

Well, either of them Eidos or Atari should know something, I'm betting Atari knows more since they received the rights from Infogrames and GT Interactive. While that is true, it was not as if Infogrames was specifically out to get Blood from GT Interactive, they bought the entire company in a fire-...

So the rights were under Atari. Maybe gog can convince them to release the source code. It has never been in question, it has always been known the distribution and resale rights followed the path of GT Interactive -> Infogrames -> Atari. Rights to distribute and resell are not the same as full IP ...

I played with the CD, so I wasn't introduced to the midi versions until later. The midi's aren't bad, but the CD audio has much better atmosphere IMO.

I'm going to try out the mouse look fix dusty posted about. http://swisscm.duke4.net/BMOUSE05.ZIP I've never seen that before, looks incredibly interesting and promising. I'll also have to look for the source code for the plug-in that he is talking about and see what can be done with it. Edit: Well...

I barely played on the internet at all... back in those days it was 1v1 via modem direct dials or direct serial link... of course, I only knew so many people who played blood, and it was short time before they stopped wanting to play with me because it always ended with me slaughtering them :evillau...

If anything else, it gets people who play all on the same version of the game, no more messing with patches and games not working because no one knows what version they have. I still prefer 1.11 as I didn't acquire OUWB until long after its release since I had already owned the game and both expans...

It's nice that they made a batch file for the movies to work. They always have worked, and it's not a batch file, just modifying the ini. The instructions to do so were in the original readme files released with Blood. Cant wait for some Bloodbath :D Don't get your hopes up too high, that still req...
