I don't remember off hand, but you are correct doubling the sizes of the textures will probably be good enough. At most you really only need 1024x1024 for most textures in a game, you can go to 2048 x 2048 for somethings but you really don't have to go higher then that, unless you are zooming really...

Kaiser claims that the source for Doom64EX and PowerslaveEX will be released, "soon", or so he said before the take down order in May. The problem was he had game data in PS. Once a hasher program is added along with a way to get to the genisis data, he might make the new source available...

So what is the "exe wrapper" approach? "Wrapper" was a poor choice of wording on my part. The KEX engine, as far as I can understand it, is a highly modified doom source port that runs games designed for consoles on a pc. If you're wondering how a port designed to run doom forma...

I have shipped AAA titles, and my opinion about him and his project is posted above. I wish my opinion of him was better, but its not. The Blood work I did on here was awful, it was during my very very junior years and deserves to be drenched in gas and burned. :) I will take this all to private pm....

The way he is doing things in his project is just awful. He couldn't figure out how to make a pixel shader that can sample a texture and a palette and get the resulting correct color. Instead he creates a system, that loads each diffuse texture and creates corresponding copies of that diffuse textur...
