gdxBlood, a real port for BLOOD ? (now BloodGDX)

The guy who made BLOODcm with the eduke engine, try to make it like a port with java (i don't know how those things work).
And apparently, it goes well !
I think, BLOODcm (eduke) missed a lot of features, animations or damage effects (like dynamite or death animations) but with gdxblood, it looks really better and good !


What do you think about that, people? :D
It was posted yet, but since gdxBLOODcm is different, there could be a new topic for it ? :)

He's using the recently found(2 years ago) Full Alpha code to program that game.
The only downside I can think of is its in java. I'd rather not use java at the moment for a game, I don't know.
I think dosbox works fine however. Maybe a plus side he'll add more user control to mod the game, but I don't know how all that works with the java.

Don't forget to read the instructions, you need the original game.
It's v0.75, he wants release a "beta" to test the bugs with the fans, he said: "Well, I made a first release of it. It can be called as beta, therefore app may can crashes. If you get a crash, see the log file (bloodgdx.log) or launch jar file in console mode: java -jar bloogdx.jar"

edit: Read the instructions, if not, it could not work ^^
I tested it, it works well (just got a sound bug but i must redo my blood folder with the original game), you can desactivate the autoaim and stuff :D

In case, if you have the sound bug, deactivated it in the option (before testing it), he must fix it.

There is so much options like noautoaim, filtered textures but there is the mouse options for X/Y axis, very helpful for the new players who don't know how to use dosbox setup ^^

A guy made a pack with the openal and stuff you need to have the sounds and launch bloodgdx without problems:

Extract it in your BLOOD folder, it should work with the sound effects.

EDIT: There is some new versions sometimes, if you want check it:

For now, extract ALL the files of the folder and sub folder in your BLOOD folder, it should work! :D

They're also making HD texture packs for this and a voxel pack too. Can't wait.

The last time I played with BloodGDX the dynamite splash damage was off by just enough to put me off playing it any further. There is no question that the work Makarov has accomplished is amazing though. :guns:
