I couldn't get either version of this to run, not even for the 10 seconds the first release did. I'm guessing that it's a multi core game although I'll be messing with the video card to see if there's anything else I can do.

I am only on a single-core, running the game through WINE which increases the CPU overhead, and it is working fine for me. :?

Must be the video card then which means there's hope. NVidia sure popped out a turkey when they made the FX series.

I did a lot of work on the engine the last days, and I really could fix a lot of things!
- I fixed the worst errors on the megatexture-loader. Now the textures should work well.
- I added the Fork as well as Pistol+Ammo for picking up!
- I added walk-sounds for different grounds like water, gras, metal....
- I fixed lighting, smooth appearing fog and lights while moving.
- I added Bloodscreen when getting attacked as well as Caleb's death :phantasm:
- Also some memory problems are solved.
- Changed the physics a little and added JUMPING!!!!(Spacebar)

And for this demo I added information on the game screen such as:
Used Memory in RealTime, Frames per Second, times for loading the map and the additional Blood-crap.....

Just to know: The thing I want to realize is

For those who are interested again..I created a very small test map with several sectors, a gun for picking up, enemies and ammo. And of course shadow-effects, lights, fogs...everything I talked about above is included!!!! File is here

Now enough witch technique, time for more guns and enemies!

Def'ly NOT Half-Life, and probably not HL2. Tbh, this reminds me of Lithtech. ;)

Runs pretty damn smooth here. It is very close to being a game already. 8)

Yeah, now it runs good =)
Was worth the time.
I just took another 30 minutes and created a new map for the OpenGL-programming-Forum, where I "released" the game to my programming community, just to give them a first feeling of the game^^
A map with cemetery-setting.

Just a little question? Is it even allowed to have the name "Blood" in this fan-title? Cause I don't need troubles with laws :?

We already know you have constructed your own engine and code. If all your material(textures, models, sounds...etc) are original and not ported or copied, and you are not asking for money for the game I don't see where it would matter what it is called.
It's not as if anyone has copyrights to the word "Blood". I think it only applied to the Transfusion agreement because we were using the actual game's resources.

The only thing that could be considered "borrowing" from the game is the story or concept.

Alas, I am not a lawyer though so I could be totally wrong.


Love the cultists BTW! And even though I have heard it 100 times by now, the zombie scream still surprises me. I always try to kill them before they do it.

I haven't posted for a while cause the university just steals my time :(

But the last days I found some time and made some changes in my Blood-project.
Not only that the game loads 2x faster now after some engine-improvements, I am completely overworking the behavior of the zombies.
Now...as in Blood...they dig themselves from the ground. I also added new running animations, new attacks, and a lot of more extra animations that give fighting the zombies a complete new experience!
