Welcome to the forums Lash94,

You might try changing your video mode (machine) in your DOSBox.conf file. I've had mixed results with it, but "opengl" seems a good place to start if you still have it on "overlay"

Also, when you say CD version, do you mean Blood 1.0 or Blood 1.21? I seem to remember reading a patch history note about videos not working before 1.10 under pure DOS. If you are still running 1.0, download the 1.11 patch and update Blood.

ok, i updated to dosbox 0.74, then updated blood to 1.11 and now plays the monolith and gti videos but still no cutscenes, so i tried output=opengl
and diferent machine values (hercules, cga...) but is not working

i have tried to make it work with the avi cutscenes and the smk videos changing the blood.ini file and placing the videos in the blood installation directory but it doesn works either

The Blood.ini should point to the smk files

I've always had problems with DOSBox working exactly right with CDs. For instance, you probably have noticed that it wont play the Blood audio tracks in game. I wonder if it's overly redundant, effectively reading your CD-ROM in really slow PIO mode. It takes FOREVER to install Blood from your CD within DOSBox.

Something you could try. Copy your movie directory from your Blood CD to your Blood directory and change your Blood.ini file to point to the local movie directory copy rather than mounting your CD-ROM. Be sure to remember the path it will be within DOSBox.

You could also try creating an ISO file with the movie folder. You could then use the IMGMOUNT command to mount the ISO. ie: imgmount D BloodCD.iso -t iso. This is the way GoG.com has it in their Blood distribution.

If you use the imgmount process, with a little more work, you can use it mount a CUE sheet that indicates both the iso, and the Blood music tracks if you've ripped them to OGG files. You can find more info about that here. DOSBox Wiki: CUE Sheets.

could you post what you have in your Blood.ini and DOSBox.conf files?

I keep meaning to ask this, but you are on a Windows PC correct?
Linux is cAsE-seNsiTive and I'm assuming that Mac OS X is as well. If you are on either of these, you will have to be sure to mount the directories using the proper case.

It looks like blood.ini is expecting that you have copied the movies over to your Blood folder. Be sure the movie directory is there in the Blood directory and that the smk, and wav files are within that.

A few things for DOSBox
Add your mount lines in at the bottom. It saves on typing & insures that it's mounted correctly each time.
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
# You can put your MOUNT lines here.
mount c
C:\your\install\directory

Just be sure that Blood installed as c:\your\install\directory\blood
This will result as a c:\ with a directory listing with your Blood folder off root. ie C:\Blood\ from within DOSBox

You could also give DOSBox more RAM to work with.
change memsize=16 to 38

well, I'm stumped as to why it's not working for you. Did you try creating that iso file and mounting that?
