Tome?

I picked up a TOME and I have no idea what it does, besides make alot of racket... What is it?

I believe these can be found on E2L4. You can collect all the tomes in order to find the secret level. It's pretty cool, but "Thin Ice", in my opinion, is nowhere near as enjoyable as "House of Horrors". :(
