Blood 1 music rearranged

Post by AD »

Hi,
as I have posted at postmortem (http://postmortem.edgegaming.com/forums ... .php?t=734)
I've done some work on its music.

Included are:
cblood1,pestis,cblood2,cblood3,cblood4,cblood5,cblood6,cblood7,cblood8,cblood9,blood5,blood6,blood7,blood12,blood16
Note that Unholy Voices is missing for now. Files are mp3, endcoded at 64kbs. Final release will have much higher quality.

The link is: http://rapidshare.com/files/42733506/lyme.rar.html .

Have fun. I'd like to know what you think!

Ew.

Why not ogg if you're going to encode them that low?

Sure, release version is going to be encoded as flac (lossless) and mp3 at 320kbps, the archive I posted is just to get some quick feedback (20MB are quicker to download).

I emailed willis if he is willing to host the music at deathmask two days ago.

what was the work? i don't mean to sound harsh, but i fail to see any re-arrangements. this sounds just like midi played through "hi quality" sample sets (or soundfonts, whatever). sort of like thing that dude did, markmcwane.com - check his "rearrangements" out.

many moons later...
work is done for now. Probably some minor adjustments are needed but I won't have time in jail.

@gila
I didn't change that much you expect for a re-arrangement because I think it is quite perfect already (for a game). Not that experts couldn't get more out of it (played with a real orchester).

You were (are) right in what you have said but not in what you thought i guess. Chain plainly is not MIDI>SOUNDFONT>WAV but modified midi>many free available soundfonts->WAV. Aquiring soundfonts and adjusting tracks required months of my spare time (an hour a week or so :P).
You know, I had to splitt parts of orchester sections to single tracks in order to use soundfonts for each part of orchester. This for every track. There are melodic additions. Making sure no clipping occurs, that they have relativ equaly distributed volume (replaygain) etc.

Also you might have noticed him, Mark, did not try to make it sound like if it is a orchester that is playing. The goal of this project_is_ to make it sound like classical music.

Could you try using something other than Rapidshare? It said I reached the download limit for free users. Try www.megaupload.com or something. As long as it works.

ok. But usually you just need to get another ip from isp (if you have a dyn ip disconnect/reconnect) to circumvent rapidshares downloading restrictions.

Thanks. That arrangement of CBLOOD7 interests me. I'm thinking of using part of the beginning of it in a video that I'm going to make. :D

Well, it's a bit late but feel free to use it, Ransu, where you wish.

I uploaded the music to youtube - you can listen to it here http://www.youtube.com/wwwnoderusde . Else you can download the tracks now under noderus.de http://www.noderus.de/Personal/Site/Games/Blood%201 if rapidshare or megaupload fails.
