I really like how those headlights look except the glare sprites are not bright enough. ;) -Slink

wangho wrote:I think it's pretty traditional Blood regardless of new textures. Lots of moving sectors, secrets, fun level design, and lots of action and strategic enemy placement. There are far more new sprite textures in 'Dulce' because the setting is on old Route 66 in the desert. It needed old billboards and antique art to sell the idea. The art is old and rusty and I think it fits in quite well. I dunno... Cryptic Passage had Alaskan Malamutes and that addon is pretty well liked
Great. I also hope the story will be an extension of the original sotryline... If you take away Caleb's background, it's not Caleb anymore... just some crazy guy. Take away the original art, and it's not Blood anymore - just a crappy engine with random graphic rip-offs that makes no sense. Please try not to make things distasteful - I still cannot understand why the few remaining mappers allways try to make a Blood "mod", instead of expanding Blood in the mannor it was designed for in the first place...

Hey, take it easy there, slugger. "To each his/her own" and all, but they were even talking about getting Stephan Weyte to do some new voice cuts for this "MOD". ;) There is much that these folks have to offer you and me. They started as noob mappers, and I helped them grow here and there, after which they took off on their own ways and became talented and creative enough to surprise me. Here, I'll post a shot from a map of mine so you don't doubt how much ass I rock.

Finally, someone answered my "Caleb in Victorian London" thread a few
years back....good to see a undead gunslinger like Caleb trashing and painting Victorian London red....

Thanks for the nice words and support Slink. Our settings are not so high-tech and sterilized, we have the bizarro Blood feel down for the most part, hopefully a familiar soundbyte from a famous song or sound or two wont take you out of it. I will say that things really get stranger the further along you go in the first episode as you get disconnected from the familiar, and then episode 2 will take you to a strange new place. Im curious as to what RedFanatic is working on at the moment, but he's got great stuff going on that I've seen.

Yep it'll tie into the original quite well, especially at the end. THere'll be a real sense of dejavu'. It takes place in the present after the events of the original Blood and Caleb is basically in hiding living as bum having all ties severed from the Cabal and Tchernobog, until he is forced into action.

I guess most people like to mod by neccessity AND the fun of it. Some people may get tired of seeing the same texture. Im not making new wallpaper or architecture basically, just some tree sprites and signs basically[/quote]

Ooooo nice attention to detail Slink :D very Cool!

Also thanks for sticking up for the Collaberaddon,
in answer to the other guy though Yeah it'll have a contination story i too
think that a MAJOR part of bloods magic is held with Caleb, and i'm pretty sure
Wangho feels the same way, so we'll be doing our best to make it Bloody not only
in style but feel too

As for customizing the game, well thats really a personal choice another of Blood's major themes is the fact it's a total compilation of horror films and
homages to them, and if people don't take the opertunity of modding to keep that
theam alive by keeping it uptodate well it would just seem a real shame to me.

Slink, I checked out your map 'Metal' that was in the 'Slinky's maps' folder of all those maps that Kurt posted awhile back. Couldnt check out London and others because only the .BAK file was posted. Metal was pretty impressive from what I saw of it with the all of that crazy sprite architecture going on. What a labrynth of metal there!

Those London screenshots are spot on! Hope we'll see some finished stuff from there one day.

Nice screens. For the most part, that looks incredible! Thanks for the compliments, all.

You are certainly welcome for my comments.

I can't believe someone still had my metal.map! :D I still have it, but WOW! :) It is cool that ppl can see it. Thanks! I had a lot of fun with that map. You can even climb the ladders! The only problem is that you can blow ppl away with explosives from outside the ducts... ;) That map was stupid, though. I was messing around much when I made much of it. You can exit the "factory" too. You can go into the woods nearby. It was fun!

I would love to make another metal map like that one. I actually made a map called "metal" for half-life. It was inspired by nightmares. There was a huge dark room with narrow walkways and distant lightless floors waiting for victims of gravity's unfortunate downside (pun intended). Each room was like a separate dream. Again, I was f***ing around. ;)

I just played on Red's 'Fort' map and it is very, very fun! There are some rooms and sequences in there that will blow you away. Lots of people being tortured everywhere. If you want a 'Blood' map, it doesn't get much better than this.

I've heard about this thread from a reliable source *cough*Phosphoric*cough* and i have to say it looks terrifically awesome, my only problem is that i can't actually get blood to work on my computer at home, and can you believe it, Phosphoric Acids (craig's) computer (which i am currently using) doesn't like blood either, i mean, coincidence.

Thanks, now everyone knows my name, I’m no longer a mystery to some.
Also blood does work on my computer as I've told you, it’s just a VDM directory problem, it'll get fixed.

Then you oughta consider selling your soul or something, so that you can play it when it's finished. The Blood is strong with this one, I promise
