First of all, you should get the latest version of engine (well, mayby not latest but newer than this provided with 1.1b3). Don't remember exact link at this moment :/ Also, consider decreasing resolution, turning off anisotopic filter, bloom effect and so on - this should improve performance.
EDIT: This one should work fine: http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/ ... 0beta1.zip
EDIT2: Remember to install latest drivers for your graphics card.

what's a intel[r] 8281oe?
most of the model numbers on Intel's site are 5-digit not four, are you sure you typed it right? 'cause I can't find anything on that card online.
Is it an onboard card?
Tranfusion plays fine with a 64 MB graphics card. (I used to use a GeForce 440 MX)
before I had that GeForce 4 I used a 16 MB TNT2 Vanta card
(I had to run Transfusion in 640x480 with everything turned down)

i checked my DXDIAG in run and clicked on display and it read this
DEVICE
Name: Intel[R] 82810E Graphics Controller
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip Set: Intel[R] 82810
DAC Type: Internal
Aprox. Total Memory: 4.0 MB
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 1024 [16 bit] [75Hz]
Monitor- Plug and Play Monitor

Ive included what it says DirectX Features because maybe one of them should be turned off.[?]

I'm afraid you'll need at least full GeForce3 (not GF 4MX or FX5200) or Radeon 9200/9550/9600/9700/9800 ++. Intel integrated graphics chipsets are too slow and incompatible with shader programs used by TF.CheapAlert wrote: Get a proper card (read: geforce2 at the least, NO FX5200)
I guess that was just figure of speech that suggests that there is no walkaround for hardware problems, so we can't solve any of your problems with TF unless you get a proper hardware.Icer wrote: so what, you want me to leave?
Actually Darkplaces works quite well with Geforce2s and FX5200s though I do not recommend the latter as that's half the speed of a Geforce2.Jethro wrote:I'm afraid you'll need at least full GeForce3 (not GF 4MX or FX5200) or Radeon 9200/9550/9600/9700/9800 ++. I am pretty sure that the FX5200 is faster than the GeForce2 if you turn off advanced effects. This is because the FX5200 is trying to perform far more advanced calculations on only a slightly more powerful GPU. I think. I switched from the GeForce3 Ti 200 to the FX5200 because it outperforms the GF3Ti200 in Prince of Persia:WW and HL2. At least AFAIK. Let me know what I missed, if anything.
Note: Some of the bloom or glow effects on the FX5200 were more intricate and impressive, even though they decreased the framerate somewhat.
Thanks

Nope. Advanced effects like realtime world and bloom are off on both cards, and the gf2 outperforms it on a tbird 950. Even with bloom enabled.Slink wrote:I am pretty sure that the FX5200 is faster than the GeForce2 if you turn off advanced effects.
Also, the 3dmark 2001 scores are terrifyingly creepy. The FX5200 can only score around 4800 marks, while the geforce2 scores about 8000, both in default settings. The Radeon 9500 PRO scores 13500, and the much newer x850 around 18500.
