a few new bloodbath maps

Post by predator »

I've just uploaded a few new bloodbath maps to our ftp.
You can get most of them separately or in one .pk3 file.
Test them and post/send me your comments if you like.

Here are some shots:

That's good. I am trying to give some more life to our project, and this is the way a mapper can do this.

Sure, I'll make them available for download for you. I don't have a web space to host them permanently, so I'll just post a link, you grab them, and then I'll remove them from my site.

What version of TF do you have? I need to know this to decide whether or not to include .way files for the TF bots.

Actually I doubt that. As far as I have noticed the latest TF does not need .way files, even if it still complains about the lack of them. In fact the latest version works worse if the .way files are present. I guess the bot code was changed lately. Nobody bothered to tell me that, or give any comments, when I sent a mail about this subject to our list, but I guess that's the current status.

So as for now I'll skip .way files.

AFAIK there haven't been any recent changes to the behaviour of the bots, and from my experience at least they work better with .way files present. It's beneficial to have them as it means the game has to do less processing for the roaming AI the bots would use otherwise, plus it provides a better gameplay experience.

Ok, it may be so. It's just that I swear to you - the latest TF (that prebeta3) seems to work better without the .way files. I've checked this on about 10 different maps.
All the .way files really improved the bot play in beta2, that's true. But in the latest version bots get a lot dumber when the .way files are present. Even on Bodies.

Actually you can check it for yourself - I uploaded bb3.way to our team ftp.

This is what stopped me from making other .way files. If they really are and will be needed, then I can make them for all our bloodbath maps. I just want to be sure I will not work in vain.

Nice work Preddy! I'm still downloading, but shots look very good.
Hmm. However i would strongly want to know how e1m5 is going on?
You see, if you dropped it, may be you can pass it to somebody?
