Problems with transfusion online

Post by mouth »

Okay.
So, like, a few hours ago, a friend of mine and I tried to play transfusion online. First I noticed, the server's gone. Okay, so I told my friend to start it up. I saw his server being listed, so I joined. But... It wouldn't join! I got this: (same thing happened if he tried to join my game)

Then I told th4t1guy to start the server up, and I managed to join his server by specifically adding his ip and port. Then he changed the map and I got disconnected. I tried joining him again, nothing. Same error like the one above. nothing helped. I was using adsl connection, I'm using Siemens Gigaset SE515 router. My friend had a 56k modem connection which he used through his LAN (his secondary computer carries the modem). I have no idea what th4t1guy had, possibly cable connection, either way, he has a fast connection.
What I think:
Basicly, my router isn't set up to host server for games (port forwarding and stuff), and I think neither can my friend.
but guys, help us out here. we wanna play.

and why isn't there a dedicated transfusion server anymore? :(

It looks like you might be running different versions of the game. Go to http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/files/ and grab the latest beta version of DarkPlaces, which should be this one.

I should have mentioned that in the post.. sorry :)
We both ran the same versions. 1.1beta3. that's still the latest release.
