Couldn´t connect to a game via Internet/LAN

Post by Xenomorph »

Howdy.. @ all

I´ve got a question. I could connect to a game via te internet, or make a server where my friend could connect. If my friend starts a game, we´ve got the same problems.
So we tried to connect with using our IP´s.

Could anybody help me, to make this world bloodier ? ;)

snag the latest DarkPlaces executable and load it into your root transfusion directory "C:\Games\Transfusion"

Thx.. now it works!

But the only way to start a game, is to start a dedicated server and join it self. Why can´t i just start a game by launching darkplaces.exe and "start a game" ? With the dedicated server, we´ll have more than 100 Ping rates... :(
If somebody have an anwser.. so tell it plz!

But it works... so thanx a lot..

Glad that's working for you. Since it's on a Quake engine you can set it up the same way as a dedicated Quake server.

use the command prompt/batch file/shortcut link and edit it so it will launch Transfusion with the "-dedicated" option.

you can get more info about general quake servers here
