just got back into pc gaming after 10 years of console gaming

i used to play blood way back when... just browsing around and seen this transfusion stuff im loving it but dont know where to start

do you need the original games to play this?
will this play on vista64/windows 7 64?
do people actually play this still ?
can i hop on this and get into a random/fast deathmatch using this like half-life/tfc


and if any one can help me get my ass playing this ill be glad to tip for your time

A: No, Transfusion is a standalone game.

Q: will this play on vista64/windows 7 64?
A: That would depend on the version you are trying to run, 1.01 or the Beta. In either case you should just have to upgrade to the latest DarkPlaces engine build to get some functionality.

Q: do people actually play this still ?
A: Probably not much really. Development took a dive before, and pretty much splatted, after DOSBox got it's act together and supported the original Blood effectively.

Q: can i hop on this and get into a random/fast deathmatch using this like half-life/tfc
A: In theory, yes, but in reality you'd be lucky to get a server reply after pingin the master server list. There are always bots tho.
