Blood Transfusions

Postby MichaelSmith » Sun May 13, 2018 05:46 am

Hi,

My Grandad has leukemia, and today had to have a blood transfusion where 7 pints of blood entered his body. I was wondering, if the average human body has about 10 pints already, where the existing blood went as no blood left his body during the transfusion and he's had so many blood transfusions he'd have about 50 pints in his body if it all stayed in there! We asked the nurse and the junior doctors this question but they didn't know, and the internet held no results either, so I'd be grateful if somebody knew the answer.

Please help.

I didn't find the right soltion from the Internet.
