Well, not exactly, but it is still interesting nonetheless.

That looks pretty interesting. It makes me pine for that hypothetical Blood 0 set in the old west all the more.

So the game is on sale at GOG.com right now:

Paying $15.28 CDN for the Collector's Edition and DLC is a bit more than I usually spend, but for a Linux native game I am willing to go a little further, and having gone through all of the Shadowrun games I have gotten a bit of a taste for turn-based tactical RPG games.

Looks really cool but I wish it weren't strategy. I want action based.

Re: Caleb's backstory - the game?
So I have finally started playing this and they were not kidding when they named it Hard West.
Still, I am beginning to find my way, killing like a madman in a fashion that would make Caleb proud. Or at least it would do, if I did not have to go back and do it over several times because the game refuses to save before it coredumps me back to the desktop sometimes after completing a mission.
Oh, and I just learned that the DLC for the game, Scars of Freedom, is supposed to be based on Gothic horror. So there's that as well.

At last I have finished it. Game kept bucking me off whenever I thought I would give it another ride.
What I will say though is that it is a real shame that Hard West does not support mods because otherwise this would be the perfect platform for a pre-betrayal Blood story featuring the four Chosen back when they were still serving Tchernobog.
All you would need is a few new assets - the gameplay is all there.

On the off chance anyone is interested I just did a write up on Hard West for GamingOnLinux:

I also did one on The Original Strife: Veteran Edition a few weeks back:

And I might as well link to the fun I had getting SiN Gold to work through WINE:
