Re: Shadow Warrior Reboot
Ice-based weaponry and freezing is somewhat uncommon in FPS games. I used to love the Frost Shards from Hexen and ice-solid enemies are really nice on the aesthetic side.

Yeah, it is different. Shooting things with an ice bow reminds me of Trine 2, which is a platformer.dosgamer000 wrote:Ice-based weaponry and freezing is somewhat uncommon in FPS games. I used to love the Frost Shards from Hexen and ice-solid enemies are really nice on the aesthetic side.

And of course, as my brother just pointed out, there is the Freezethrower from Duke Nukem 3D.dosgamer000 wrote:Ice-based weaponry and freezing is somewhat uncommon in FPS games. I used to love the Frost Shards from Hexen and ice-solid enemies are really nice on the aesthetic side.

Re: Shadow Warrior Reboot
Most MMO's use some form of fire, water, nature, earth type damage so I'm not surprised to see it in an FPS really. It brings some sort of variety to the game and can make certain types of weapons more effective (or less) against certain types of enemies. I'm sure that's what they are going for.

Re: Shadow Warrior Reboot
The fps game I saw that had the highest amounts of damage types was a Doom wad called Aeons of Death. It had the traditional fire/water/wind/earth/ice/thunder damage but also things like rail/explosive/melee/dark magic/poison/plasma/etc. Just an insane amount of elementals and that is what I like to see in shooter games. Anything that allows the player to maim the enemy with more than just a bullet is a good thing to me.I Live...AGAIN wrote:Most MMO's use some form of fire, water, nature, earth type damage so I'm not surprised to see it in an FPS really. I did not even know that Forbes reviewed video games...

It is not a bad review though.
