Darkplaces Test (NiO)

Post by Corbin »

Well, aside from HT, I've been poking a little bit at Dark Places to try and understand how 3d engines work better.

I finally got some progress made into a video, it's buggy as hell and doesn't mean anything at all, just some tests I've done.

Test Video

So far, so good!

Could you narrow it down? I don't want to search the entire jaguarsector forums.

I finally fixed the weird model errors - I'm not using DPM at all. Instead, I'll either use MD3 (Quake 3), MD2 (Quake 2), or MD5 (Doom 3). DPM is just too advanced for me to use at the moment.

This chick is rendered as an MD3, didn't come out looking too bad to my surprise.

So mapping, coding, and modeling are your goals or are you going to focus on the models?

Actually, it's more of the coding I'm concerned with, not so much the models or the maps at this point.
