Connection problem...

Hi, i'd really like to pay transfusion, but i have a problem connecting to servers.

I'm using beta3 with the patch under a debian whith xfree86, an athlon at 1250MHz, 256 M of ram, and an ati radeon 9200.

Here is a paste of what is shown in my terminal when trying to connect:

Don't know if all that lines are usefull but since it's shown i think it can help you developpers to fix a bug.

I'm not sure Willis has updated his servers yet. Try it with the unpatched Beta3.

Thanks for your advice, it worked, now the problem is that i can't play more than a few seconds.

I explain myself: i connect to the server, start to play, but as soon as something really happen (beeing fragged or picking some item or...) my system totally freeze.

Neither my keyboard or my mouse is responding, and nothing happen anymore in the terminal where i launched transfusion.

Hope you'll be able to fix that, please continue making such good job ;)

hmm I wonder if it's still that DarkPlaces bug... when things freez up, try and hit the eject button on your CD-ROM. It sounds odd but I had the same thing happen after playing LordHavoc's deathmatch mode for 2 hours.

I tried it but it doesn't change anything, i keep trying to find a solution.

I have one more question: do you have a debuf version of transfusion? this could help precising the problem.

Could you try the latest engine snapshot from our development website? I fixed a couple of problems in DP recently, hopefully the ones that you encounter.

Note to Willis: updating our server using a recent DP build could certainly help... :wink:

You mean the game freezes or the system freezes? I'm not sure to understand exactly. If the system freezes, it's certainly a configuration or driver problem in your Debian. If the game freezes (but not the whole system) and you're a C coder, you could grab the engine source code to try debug the problem by yourself. Feel free to report us any result, comments or even post a patch. You may also get support from the DarkPlaces IRC channel: #darkplaces on irc.anynet.org

I did earlier this morning after Kazashi notified me that 1.1beta3patch was released.
