Found this article over at BoingBoing about books bound with human skin. And you thought it was just the Necronomicon!

Very interesting, and interesting to see how such behaviour doesnt just occur in the fictional societies such as the Cabal or the factual horrors we know of such as the Nazis.

The only book Ive held bound with any skin other then cow was a 13th century hymnal made of sheep skin and using a hand chopped chunk of wood as the spine.

This is indeed an odd way to bound books, I have a book of forbidden words witch i have been told to also be bound by human skin, not sure if its true, would be interesting to find out.

That is a lil piccy of the original dreaming god, the Great Cthulhu, as drawn by Goomi

But on a more on-topic way, he is thought (by a large number of people) to have imagined the Necromomicon, wich in Evildead 1-3 is made form human skin!!

Wow, post saved!!! :D

lmao!!!

a butt book :D

Prob best on the chest , prob back as its got tighter skin and less sagging etc.

and i depends on the size of the book. and its dimensions.

hmmm, this is sounding do-able :gargoyle:

The chest, no not the chest, i would rather keep my chest if you know what i mean, TMI. The back would be a good choice but i would have thought the skin on the forearms would be the best.

Do-able, ouch.

Forearm skin can be a little 'used'

The back skin would be best quality and maybe leg skin.

Maybe this is an idea for the Transfusion manual? ;)
