try messing with video card settings Blood 2 doesn't really have brightness control, not many games in the pre-AGP2x era did (like Quake2's 'brightness' was merely texture gamma crap) and the 3dfx Voodoo cards defaulted to 1.3 gamma so they were like 'okay that's the popular card no one's ever going...
