Sounds like normal behavior, it's not really shut down. It's put into a 'rest'. You will have to turn your computer off manually if Windows does not do the 'fast shutdown'. When i played blood for the first time i played on extra crispy accidently, so the experience of crazy ass "one hit and yo dead" enemies was a scary start which gives me an uneasy feel to the first level now.
