If I print a picture of Bill Gates a sensor in his house will go off and I will be instantly removed to a concentration camp.

I have now upgraded the NT4 pc to XP, and for some reason on Quake I can only get it to work if the old NT4 pc is the server - nothing can be detected if the new pc is the server. File sharing in windows works fine both ways, so I am at a loss, and pi**ed off as i can't set blood up with one pc bein...

Ah.

Instead of using a vis portal, couldn't we just recreate the first part of the room, and have a silent teleporter?

But then again, I am dumb.

I think that Commit is just used by setup.exe when trying to start a multiplayer game (could be wrong though)

Seamless Transportation

Sorry I haven't spoke in a while, Real Life (TM) tended to stop me posting. Anywho, what is the trouble with seamless transportation in TF? If I remember correctly, in classic Quake transporters were used quite often in user levels to ease level design. Or is it the whereabouts of the transporter th...

Has anyone heard of bonus whoring?

I recently scammed 2 online casinos for $200 each - and its perfectly legal and legit!

Basically by taking advantage of opening deals......anyone else heard about this/done this/ want more info?

I got Quake running and played fine.

But, I'm afraid you were right about Blood - it is a lost cause. In fact, most of the games I've tried don't run on NT. *sigh*

At least Transfusion works though!

I think the expansion was pretty much a mixed bag. I liked the mini Calebs, the the plants were so-so, and the new cultists were nothing special. As far as level design goes, some were great (The Steamboat in particular) and some were decidedly average (the first lvl of Plasma...or is it cryptic? Th...

I think that most work was put into the first episode because it was the shareware episode, and people were going to judge the game by it.

Episode 4 is still good though....

I managed to get them together on a static IP 192.168.0.1 & 192.168.0.2 and I just tried network Quake on IPX and it works fine. However, I cannot share the Internet because it says that IP's need to be dynamic for this to work. Problem being that when I turn them to dynamic they can't find each...

Yeah AVP1, when you were a marine and you could barely see, and out of the dim light of a flare an alien screeches towards you! Great stuff! :) I love the soundtrack to Quake 1, in particular the whisper track as you said. E1M2 in Blood is a fantastic lvl. Mind you, having said that the whole first ...

Sorry, I've done all those Quake things, and while I like the Quake atmosphere, it just isn't scary. I haven't jumped once while playing it. Same goes for Blood (even though it's fantastic).

I think AVP is the only game to really make me jump...

Damn networking all the way to the blackest circle of Hell!!

I just got a 800 Mhz PC running NT to connect to my XP machine for some gaming fun (hopefully Blood) only to find out that XP's network setup wizard is incompatible with NT!!!! How the hell can I connect them when they don't recognise each other?

NOT a happy bunny.....

Quake 1 was scary? ok..... Oh, and the level skip cheat has changed in OU WB so you type mario x x where x is the episode and level e.g. mario 1 2 would take you to e1m2. I can complete Blood on the second hardest difficulty, but that's about it. I think the other one is pretty much co-op only, IMHO...
