Re: Blood source code

Yeah, I know. But also I know that back in 200x years we were discussing it a lot with TF team members. I remember that they actually were looking how some of the things where done in alpha sources. Of course these are far from the final game code, but still from what I've heard it was possible to r...

Re: Blood source code

Well, nobody seems to bother about small but-not-giving-up blood community... I think the only ways we can see *some* moves in the blood realm are: 1) somebody BIG will occasionally purchase Blood franchise from Warner. You know, the way Randy Pitchfork brought back Duke to him and now we will final...

As far as i remember it's easy to reproduce. All you need to do is try changing size of a monster in mapedit. As i understand while monster is in default state - it acts OK as a "3D" sprite. Try to resize it - and engine treats it as an object. Object however runs around, screams and shoot...

Dimebog said he had an announcement about their C2G project, so you might want to wander over to Postmortem to look into that.

That one was not legal. However, there's plenty of Blood on abandonware sites. So i doubt there is a big problem. Transfusion is way another thing because technically it is a *new* and *another* project. Like you do not have to pay royalties to, say, Isaak Asimov's older writings, but you cannot cla...

Blood, DosBox, Mac OS X

Just so you know. I've found a pretty neat package on the russian torrent site. It has OUWBlood package wrapped in it's own little dosbox shell, port for mac OS X. In the end one gets a simple app (like any on mac OS X) that launches by double click and runs very good on any more or less modern Mac....

They didn't say Romero DID anachronox. They said he "managed to crank out". that is pretty correct since he started ION Storm, invited Tom hall and promoted the game etc. More to say if you search for some history and dig into Daikatana's and Anachronox's credits - you'll find that both te...

Whoa. Once again reinstalled Blood2 (it turned out to be A LOT of fun to play - don't know why; i liked only atmosphere music etc. but now something changed in me and I've started Blood1-style insane running and jumping and it worked suddenly!). Sorry for being a little off. I noticed the stuff with...

Not correct. Legend of 7 Palladins was purely official. The game engine was licensed. I don't remember the story behind L7P, but it was somehow connected to 3D realms (connected beyond engine license I mean). Anyway. L7P never reached Alpha state (in terms of quantity of content), but only the stage...

I once sent a few questions to ken silverman, author of build engine. one of the questions was "what was the first game to use build engine?" the answer was.... guess? yep. it was blood. Ken mentioned Blood was the first game that was developed on build engine. but since it was not finishe...

it seems to me there is one inconvinience at least: Reflective Shots: A rare powerup that summons a protective sphere around the player. This sphere reflects physical damage such as bullets or axe swings, back towards the attacker. This is better than mere immunity against damage since it actually m...
