Yes i did the same and it runs too. but you can´t play in LAN without big lags. thats why cruaich and i decided to make a dos boot disc. U just have to find dos drivers for sound (tricky) and network card (easy).

i didnt need a slowdown on a Barton@2000Mhz with this boot disc. I don´t think that blood under real dos conditions has the bug of running too fast!

There are no bugs. just bugs that are in blood since years ;-). The only problem is to get sound and network drivers for your system. It costed me one evening for PC and Laptop to get them. No afaik. so we made it with this boot disk. I got it now running on my laptop with pcmcia network and maestro2e sound and on my big machine with nvidia nforce2 dos onboard network and sblive! it runs as in good old times. no comparison possible to dosbox or vdmsound because there are NO lags at all...

Progress made! Now i can run it without Sound but in high resolution. Changed Files=20 to 50 and Buffer=20 to 50 This handles the files that can be simultaneously openend in dos. seems to be imptortant fpr blood to run. Also add the Line Stacks=9,256 to the config.sys Now im working on Sound and Net...

Morining Cruaich. Had half an hour of time yesterday and made that boot disk. It recognizes my USB Stick and the HDD. I started Setup, disabled all sound and then launched Blood. But i can see no Menu or any other letters...maybe a vesa or vga problem? if i only hit enter it tries to start the game ...

Yeah progress goes on. There were several versions of the SBLive Ware available. Newer cards always had the 3.0 Live Ware. My old SBLive Value still has the 2.0 with DOS Drivers. Yes you are right. But perhaps maybe if all can be stored on a floppy...bingo. i think more pcs are equipped with a floppy drive than the usb booting option.
